About

Bones and Bioanth is a science communication project that believes biological anthropology is for everyone!*

My name is Kate Keller (McElvaney) and I’m a biological anthropologist, adjunct lecturer in biological anthropology, and a total science geek! I received my MA from the University of Houston in anthropology with a focus in bioarchaeology/paleopathology. Since graduation I’ve been living the dream and teaching introductory biological anthropology and human variation classes to undergraduates. Although my graduate training is in bioarchaeology, I’ve found a true love for teaching general biological anthropology. I especially enjoy introducing the field to students with little to no background. Taking difficult, controversial, or esoteric topics and explaining them in accessible, fun, and relatable ways is what I’m all about. Thank you for joining me as together we explore what it means to be human!
